Latest road report, N6 to E Cape coast through Smithfield

  • 24 July 201231 December 2018
  • by Carmel Rickard

The N6, between Bloemfontein and the Eastern Cape coast, closed this morning because of a strike, is now open again. Workers involved in the rebuilding of the N6 gathered at one of the stop/go points on the roadworks to stage their protest and the national road was closed. This is about the sixth time that protests have led to the closure of the N6 during the current rebuilding of the road. The N6 is the major route for vehicles from Gauteng to the Eastern Cape industrial and tourist areas.

Sorry about this everyone, but it’s even worse for the people who actually LIVE here! We can’t wait for the roadworks to be completed.
